SmartConnect QR-Code Printing Best Practices
Contrast Counts. Print your QR-Code on a solid background with the highest contrast to your code’s color.
Negative Space. Leave some space around your QR-Code, around the border. 4-blocks of space are considered ideal.
Material Consideration. Matt or low-gloss finishes with low-reflective surfaces improve scannability.
Eye Level. Placement will differ in the case of posters, flyers, brochures, etc. It should be placed at eye level on a flat, decluttered section that is noticeable and easy to see.
Size Matters. Consider the distance between the QR-Code and your customer’s smartphone. The ideal ratio is 10:1 inches.
Space Between. Avoid placing multiple QR-Codes in a single space. If you need to place two codes in a single piece of collateral, have a wide distance between them.
Scan Me. Having a clear call-to-action along with the code helps customers know what to expect. A simple ‘Scan Me’ call-to-action works wonders to build trust and compel someone to scan your code.
Template QR Sizing* Recommendations
The size of your QR-Code is determined by how far away your customers will be when they are scanning the code. If you don’t see your application here, this is a good formula to find the right size for your code; Scanning Distance (in inches or centimeters) x 36 / 250, this will give you the size in the distance measurement you chose.
